ASVJ Board of Directors

Dr. Dean Vicksman—President

Dr. VicksmanDr. Vicksman currently serves as the President of the ASVJ Board of Directors. In addition to full time veterinary practice, Dr. Vicksman Is extremely dedicated to shelters and rescues in Colorado. Owner of Evans East Animal Hospital in Denver and graduate of Colorado State University, Dr. Vicksman has served as the Chairman of the Board for the Denver Dumb Friends League and is a frequent contributor to both his local ABC TV affiliate (KMGH) and the local Fox TV affiliate (KDVR).

Dr. Arnold Goldman—Vice President

Dr. GoldmanDr. Goldman is a graduate of the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, holds a Master Degree in veterinary physiology and is a team leader in the Connecticut state animal response team. He is the owner of Canton Animal Hospital in Canton, Connecticut . Dr. Goldman is a Past President of the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association. He frequently writes for the Connecticut VMA bulletin and is a well known resource for local television stations.

Dr. David Visser—Secretary

Dr. VisserDr. Visser is the owner of Roseland Animal Hospital and the Center for Animal Health in Northern Indiana. A Michigan State Graduate, Dr. Visser has a long history of radio appearances as well as regular columns in his local papers. He is also the weekly “Pet Vet” on WNDU television. Dr. Visser has served as a three time reporter and script supervisor for the Conference TV Journal at the Western Veterinary Conference. He is the recipient of a VNN “Rising Star” award for his television work.

Mr. Mark Willis—Director

Dr. WillisMr. Willis currently serves as KRMG’s Managing Editor in Tulsa Oklahoma. Mark has interviewed Presidents, sports celebrities and maybe even your neighbor. Mark has worked as an anchor at KRLD in Dallas and the Texas State Network, hosted a national morning news program for six years on Sirius Satellite Radio. He has also been News Director for the ABC Radio Networks in Dallas. Mark currently serves as the Region 6 Coordinator for the Radio and Television News Directors Association.

Dr. Jennifer Hennessey—Treasurer

Dr. WillisDr. Hennessey is a 2005 graduate of Texas A&M's College of Veterinary Medicine and is currently an emergency clinician at Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists near Houston, Texas. She is a member of the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society as well as the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management. Dr. Hennessey is a regular guest on Fox 26 news and provides pet care articles for their website.

Dr. Diane Levitan—Director

Dr. Willis“Dr. Diane” is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. As owner of Peace Love Pets Veterinary Care in New York as well as the Founder of Helping Promote Animal Welfare (Helping PAW), a non-profit charity helping pet owners in need, Dr. Levitan has a long history of working with traditional media. She is co-host of the popular “The Pet Doctor” on Pet Life Radio as well a contributor to numerous pet related websites and magazine. Dr. Levitan is a three time reporter for the Conference TV Journal at the Western Veterinary Conference.

Dr. Amber Andersen—Director

Dr. Andersen is a recent graduate from the Western University College of Veterinary Medicine. Her experience with animals has ranged from working with African elephants and Beluga whales to the dogs and cats that make our house a home. She is active in several professional organizations and is currently working on her Master's in Public Health. Dr. Andersen practices in Palos Verdes, CA and also works with the esteemed philanthropy, the Annenberg Foundation.

Dr. Nick Striegel—Director

Dr. WillisDr. Nick Striegel received his DVM from Iowa State University and practiced in North Dakota for fifteen years. He also has a Master of Public Health Degree from the University of Iowa and is currently the Assistant State Veterinarian with the Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA). In his role with the CDA, Dr. Striegel is often the face and/or voice for local media researching animal health stories. Dr. Striegel is a credentialed member of the National Animal Health Emergency Response Corps(NAHERC) and Veterinary Response Team 4.
